It was a bright Saturday morning, and Lily was excited for her tenth birthday party. The house was decorated with colorful balloons and a table full of treats. When her friends arrived, they played games and laughed, but suddenly, a strange growl echoed from the backyard.
“Did you hear that?” Lily asked, her heart racing. They tiptoed to the door and peeked outside. To their surprise, a giant furry monster stood there, with bright green eyes and a big smile.
“Happy birthday, Lily!” it boomed. “I’m Grumble, the birthday monster! I come to celebrate, but I also bring a challenge. Are you ready to play a scavenger hunt?”
Lily and her friends cheered. Grumble handed her a list of items to find: a feather from a bluebird, a shiny stone, and magical herbs. With Grumble leading the way, they raced into the forest.
They found the bluebird’s feather and a sparkling stone by the stream. Finally, they discovered the magical herbs hidden among the bushes. As the sun began to set, they returned to the party, breathless and happy.
“You did it!” Grumble said. “Now make a magical birthday wish!”
Lily grinned and wished for many more adventures with her friends. Grumble waved his hand, and sparkling lights filled the air. “Happy birthday, Lily!” he said before disappearing into the forest.
The party continued with laughter and stories of their adventure. That night, Lily lay in bed, smiling. The birthday monster had made her day unforgettable!
